The deadly afternoon of July 26 th, 2025, was broken at 4.43 PM when a 42-year-old man strode into the Walmart at Traverse City, Michigan with a folding knife. Eye witnesses reported terrible scenes of panic:

Tiffany DeFell, a witness in the parking lot, said:
"Me and my sister were just freaking out... This is something you see out of the movies. It’s not what you expect where you live."
